AEU2761 is a Drop Arm Ball Joint Kit for vehicles fitted with the non-assisted Gemmer manual steering box. The kit supplies the outer ball joint for the drop arm and replaces the joint that links the Gemmer manual steering box to the steering linkage on Defender models. The outer ball joint provides the pivot between the drop arm and the steering draglink or track rod end, permitting steering geometry to move during suspension travel while transferring steering input. Worn or corroded joints commonly present as steering play, knocking on rough roads or uneven tyre wear; replacement restores a secure mechanical connection and reduces free play at the drop arm pivot.
