90519055 is a rear camshaft bearing. Fitted to the cylinder head camshaft assembly on 2.25 and 2.5 litre 4-cylinder engines up to and including the 300Tdi, the bearing locates and supports the rear camshaft journal within the head and provides an oil-lubricated running surface. Correct bearing condition keeps camshaft end float within specification and reduces metal-to-metal wear on journals and cam lobes; worn or damaged bearings can cause excess end float, abnormal valvetrain noise and accelerated camshaft wear, so they should be inspected during head overhaul or engine servicing.
