ANR2860 is a cross rod tube (inner tie rod). Fitted to the steering drag link on Defender steering systems, it forms the central tubular section of the tie rod assembly, accepts the inner tie rod end and provides the structural link between the steering rack/drop arm and the outer tie rod end or drag link components. In service the tube resists bending and transmits steering input forces; maintaining correct condition is important for steering geometry and to prevent excessive play or uneven tyre wear. Replacement is generally required when the tube shows signs of wear, corrosion or deformation where the inner joint locates.
