ERC1351 is an oil pump shaft and gear for 3.5 V8 petrol engines. Fitted to the engine oil pump on 3.5L V8 Twin Carb and EFI engines, the shaft and gear transmit drive from the crankshaft to the pump gear train to pressurise the engine lubrication system. The assembly converts crankshaft rotation into the pump gear motion so the pump can draw and circulate oil around the engine lubrication circuit; correct tooth engagement and profile are required to maintain stable oil pressure. When replacing the shaft and gear, inspect the teeth and bearing surfaces for wear, pitting or scoring and confirm compatibility with the pump housing and drive components before installation.
