ERC5913 is an O-ring used between the oil thermostat and the adapter on 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines up to and including the 300Tdi. It provides the sealing surface at the joint to prevent oil leaks and should be inspected for signs of hardening, cracking or flattening during routine service; replace if damaged.
