ERR4848 is a rocker shaft for 300Tdi engines. Fitted in the cylinder head, it locates and supports the rocker arms so camshaft motion is transmitted to the inlet and exhaust valves; correct alignment of the rockers preserves valve timing geometry and reliable contact with adjusters and tappets during operation. Replace the shaft if the shaft or its mounting surfaces show wear, scoring or movement that permits excessive rocker play, as this can affect valve clearance and operation.
