ESR2242 is a 12 gallon, two-hole fuel tank fitted beneath the body of 90-inch wheelbase Defender models (1986-1998). It is not for the 2.8i six-cylinder and features two top openings: a rear sender hole for the fuel sender and a front fuel pipe hole for the fuel connection. The unit is compatible with fuel assemblies that include an internal pump and includes the necessary mountings for the 90-inch configuration; when overhauling the fuel system on petrol Defender models, replace rubber fuel lines with SAE J30 R9 grade hose to reduce the risk of leaks and improve compatibility with modern ethanol-containing fuels.
