ESR2384 is a rear exhaust silencer assembly fitted to the rear exhaust system on 110 inch wheelbase Defender models with the 300Tdi (2.5L 4-cylinder TDi) engine. The assembly attenuates exhaust noise and routes combustion gases from the final section of the exhaust to the tailpipe; it mounts to the vehicle underbody using rubber hangers and fasteners. Associated mounting hardware verified for this assembly includes one NTC5582 rubber hanger, one ESR3172 rubber hanger and two NV108041L nuts - inspect and replace worn hangers to prevent undue movement.
