ESR359 is a rear tailpipe and silencer for the 200Tdi engine. Fitted as the rear section of the exhaust on Defender 110 and 130 wheelbase models, the assembly combines a silencer chamber with the tailpipe outlet to reduce noise and route exhaust gases to the rear. Internal baffles and chambering attenuate combustion noise while maintaining exhaust flow characteristics suitable for the 2.5-litre 200Tdi engine. The unit mounts beneath the rear body and attaches to the centre or intermediate exhaust section at the appropriate flange or clamp joints, using rubber hangers and fasteners to allow controlled movement and isolate vibration.
