Land Rover Part Number: ETC5577 - Drain Plug
ETC5577 is a drain plug used to provide a removable seal for draining fluids. It is fitted to the sump on 2.5D non-turbo engines, to the cylinder block on 2.5-litre petrol engines, and to cylinder heads and inlet manifolds on 200Tdi and 300Tdi diesel engines. Commonly referred to as a sump plug, drain bolt or oil drain plug, it allows controlled removal of oil or coolant during servicing - ensure mating threads and seating faces are clean and undamaged when refitting.

Replace the sealing washer at every oil change to reduce the risk of leaks; the plug itself can usually be reused if threads and seating faces are undamaged. Inspect the plug and threads during servicing and replace the plug if the threads are stripped or the seating face is damaged.
