ETC8036 is a Rear Head Lift Bracket - Tdi. Fitted to the rear face of the cylinder head, this bracket provides a secure lifting point for removal and installation of 200Tdi and 300Tdi engines. The bracket locates onto cylinder head mounting points so a workshop hoist or engine crane can lift the complete engine assembly; during lifting it transfers loads into the head casting rather than the surrounding ancillaries and is only used while lifting operations are carried out, not as a permanent engine mount.
