FQJ102890 is a left-hand front door latch assembly. Fitted within the front door locking system, it engages the door striker to hold the left-hand front door closed and releases the catch when the interior or exterior handle is operated. The latch works with the door lock linkage or an electric locking actuator to permit manual locking and central locking operation; wear, damage or contamination of the catch or linkage can cause incomplete latching, difficulty closing the door or failure to lock. Replacing the latch restores correct mechanical engagement of the door catch and normal handle and lock function within the front door locking system.
