FRC2859 is a Bellhousing Bottom Cover. Fitted to the lower section of the gearbox bellhousing on 5-speed manual transmissions, it is supplied as an adaptor plate option for automatic transmissions where specified. The part provides a protective closure for the clutch/bellhousing area, reducing ingress of debris and helping to retain the assembly layout around the clutch and input shaft; when used as an adaptor plate it also provides the required interface geometry between the transmission and the engine block or supporting structure.
