FTC1446 is a Mainshaft Assembly for the LT77 5-speed manual transmission. Fitted as the primary longitudinal shaft, it carries the forward and reverse gearsets, provides the splined interface for the output gearing and supports the rotating loads in the gearbox; bearings run on the mainshaft journals to maintain alignment under load. Correct mainshaft condition is essential for smooth gear selection and long-term gearbox durability, and worn splines or journals can cause noise, gear slip or increased play. FTC1446 is supplied as a complete mainshaft assembly to replace worn or damaged shafts during a gearbox rebuild or major transmission repair.
