FTC2827 is a High/Low Gear Selector Fork for the LT230 transfer box. Fitted to the transfer box, the fork runs on a selector shaft and locates and moves the selector sleeve to engage either the high or low gearset. It transfers linear movement from the gear selector mechanism into lateral movement of the sleeve, locking the chosen range to the output gears. Wear to the fork or its contact surfaces can produce difficulty selecting ranges or excessive play in the selector mechanism; replacement restores correct engagement geometry. This part is fitted where the high/low selection function is required, such as Defender and Discovery 2 models that use the LT230 transfer box.
