Land Rover Part Number: FTC2957 - Clutch Release Fork - LT77 and R380
FTC2957 is a clutch release fork for LT77 and R380 5-speed manual gearboxes. Fitted within the clutch release mechanism, the fork converts axial movement from the clutch pedal linkage into lateral movement to operate the release (throw-out) bearing, transmitting pedal input across the clutch housing to disengage the driven disc. Correct shape and alignment maintain consistent bearing contact and lever geometry; worn or damaged forks can cause uneven release, noise or premature bearing wear. This part is commonly used on Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic models equipped with LT77 or R380 transmissions and manual clutch systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
The FTC2957 fork transfers clutch pedal movement into lateral motion to engage the release (throw-out) bearing on LT77 and R380 5-speed gearboxes. It locates against the release bearing and transmits operator input across the clutch housing to disengage the driven disc. If the fork becomes worn, bent or damaged it can cause uneven clutch release, noise or premature bearing failure.
