FTC4011 is a synchroniser plate for the LT77 5-speed manual transmission. Fitted to the mainshaft synchroniser assembly, it provides the friction surface and locating interface that works with the synchroniser hub, friction rings, cones and dog teeth to equalise speeds for 1st, 2nd and 5th gear engagement; correct plate condition is important for smooth, positive gear changes and to avoid premature wear to the hub and gear teeth. This part is used on Land Rover models that employ the LT77 gearbox, including Defender and Range Rover Classic applications where the LT77 was fitted.
