Land Rover Part Number: FTC4962 - Mainshaft Gear - 26 Teeth - LT230 Transfer Box
FTC4962 is a 26-tooth mainshaft gear for the LT230 transfer box. Fitted to the transfer box mainshaft, it meshes with the mating gears inside the LT230 to provide a 1.4:1 ratio, altering rotational speed and torque between the input and output shafts to transfer drive to the front and rear outputs as designed by the unit's gearing. Replacement is required where worn or damaged teeth cause noise, poor gear engagement or abnormal wear patterns. Fitted examples include Defender models and selected Discovery 1 vehicles with the 2.0 MPI transfer arrangement; confirm the transfer box type before installation.
