FTC5071 is a clutch slave cylinder that operates within the clutch hydraulic system on V8 models fitted with LT77, LT85 and R380 gearboxes. The cylinder converts hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder into linear force at the clutch release mechanism, moving the release fork or bearing so the clutch plates can separate; a leaking or seized unit will reduce hydraulic pressure, causing a soft pedal, incomplete disengagement or difficulty changing gears.
