FTC5090 is a coupling shaft used within the ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox to transmit rotational torque between gearbox assemblies. The shaft transfers rotational load between rotating sub-assemblies, maintaining alignment and delivering torque from the torque converter/output geartrain to the gearbox extension assembly; correct condition of the shaft is important for smooth gear selection and to avoid vibration or wear on associated bearings and seals. Fitted in Defender, Discovery and Range Rover Classic models that use the ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox.
