KKB102450 is an Engine Rubber Mounting - Petrol. Fitted to petrol-engined Discovery 2 vehicles, this rubber mounting secures the engine to the chassis subframe, locating and restraining the engine while isolating vibration from the vehicle body. The elastomer element absorbs engine torque reactions and helps reduce noise, vibration and harshness transmitted to the cabin; it also transfers engine loads into the chassis during acceleration, braking and cornering. Over time the rubber can harden, crack or separate from its bonded components - symptoms include increased engine movement, clunks on throttle changes or elevated vibration at idle.
