KKH101900 is an upper engine mounting tie bar that links the upper engine mounting points to the vehicle chassis on Freelander models fitted with the 2.0 TCIE L Series diesel or the 1.8 K Series petrol, and forms part of the engine mounting system. Fitted across the top of the mount points, the tie bar provides the upper structural connection between the engine mounts and the vehicle body, resisting fore-aft and lateral movement and distributing mounting forces across both sides of the engine cradle to reduce movement transmitted to the chassis and help maintain correct alignment of ancillary components such as intake and exhaust connections. The diesel fitment is limited by VIN to units up to YA999999. During removal or installation the tie bar is handled as part of the engine mounting assembly and should be inspected for corrosion, deformation or damaged mount interfaces before refit.
