LGJ100690 is a Timing Chain Guide Rail for Td5 engines. This guide rail locates and supports the timing chain within the Td5 timing system, providing a low-friction bearing surface and setting the correct chain path under the action of the chain tensioner. Fitted to the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel timing assembly, the rail works with the sprockets and hydraulic/mechanical tensioner to maintain valve timing; wear, cracking or contamination can alter chain routing, increase slack and cause audible chain noise and accelerated wear of the chain and tensioner. Replace the guide rail during a timing system overhaul or when visible damage or significant wear is present to restore correct chain alignment and prevent secondary component damage.
