What does LR005054 do?
The exhaust manifold collects exhaust gases from each cylinder head port and combines them into a single outlet that connects to the downstream exhaust system. Fitted directly to the cylinder head, the manifold forms one of the first stages of the vehicle's exhaust path and seals to the head with a gasket and fastenings. Proper sealing at the manifold flange prevents exhaust gas leaks that can cause increased noise, localised heat damage, and changes in engine running characteristics. During normal service life the manifold face and bolt threads should be inspected for cracking, distortion or corrosion when removed, and any damaged sealing surfaces renewed. Replacement of the manifold restores correct routing of exhaust gases and allows subsequent components in the exhaust system to operate as designed.
