LR016423 is a rear shock absorber assembly fitted to the rear suspension of Range Rover Sport models with 4.2 AJ V8, 4.4 AJ V8 and 2.7 TDV6 engines. The damper controls vertical wheel movement and, working with the coil springs and suspension links, manages body motion during acceleration, braking and cornering by converting suspension oscillation into heat to reduce rebound and compression. Dampers for the higher-output petrol V8 models are matched to those vehicles' dynamic load and performance characteristics, while the TDV6 application uses damping tuned for the diesel trim.
