LR018404 is an air conditioning condenser fitted to the air conditioning system of Discovery 4 models with the 4.0 Cologne V6 EFI SOHC engine. The unit receives hot, high-pressure refrigerant from the compressor and presents a large finned surface to passing airflow so heat transfers from the refrigerant to the outside air, changing the refrigerant from a high-pressure vapour to a high-pressure liquid suitable for metering into the evaporator. The condenser works with the vehicle's cooling fans and pressure switches to support consistent cabin cooling; damage, blockage or corrosion will reduce refrigerant flow and cooling effectiveness and can allow moisture or contaminants to enter the system.
