LR020068 is a 5th & 6th Speed Shaft for the MT82 6-speed manual gearbox. Fitted to Defender models with the MT82 manual transmission (2007-2016, from VIN 7A000001), the shaft locates the 5th and 6th gear clusters and transmits rotational load between those gearsets. Bearing journals on the shaft support the gear clusters and maintain axial and radial alignment under load, allowing selector forks and synchronisers to engage the 5th and 6th ratios; correct shaft condition and alignment are necessary for accurate gear selection and to avoid premature wear of synchronisers and bearings.
