LR025261 is a timing chain tensioner for the oil pump drive chain on 2.0L 16V TIVCT petrol engines. Fitted to the oil pump drive, it applies and maintains a controlled force to the chain guide to reduce slack, prevent chain jump and excessive wear, and preserve timing between the oil pump drive and associated rotating elements. The design suits the 240PS 2.0L TIVCT application and the later Gen2 2.0L TIVCT variant where specified. During installation the tensioner interfaces with the chain guide and mounting points on the engine front cover; a damaged or worn tensioner can allow chain noise, accelerated wear, or loss of oil pump drive timing.
