LR027983 is an air conditioning compressor clutch fitted to 2.7 TDV6 applications. Fitted to the front of the compressor, this electromagnetic clutch engages the compressor shaft to transfer torque from the pulley to the compressor pump when cooling is requested, and disengages to allow the pulley to freewheel when cooling is not required, reducing load on the engine. It forms part of the compressor assembly used on selected Discovery 3 and Range Rover Sport models and should be replaced if it fails to engage, seizes, or shows excessive wear to the friction surface or bearing.
