LR035564 is a crankshaft timing trigger wheel fitted to the engine timing system on 3.0 V6 Diesel and 4.4L Diesel V8 engines. The wheel forms part of the crankshaft position sensing arrangement and is read by the crankshaft position sensor to generate timing pulses used for injection and ignition control. A correct timing reference from the trigger wheel allows the engine management system to determine crankshaft angular position and speed so it can sequence fuel delivery and valve events. Replacement is required if the wheel is damaged, worn or has missing teeth that affect the sensor signal; when refitting, align the wheel to the crankshaft timing marks appropriate to the engine.
