LR050796 is a headlamp ballast. Fitted to the headlamp electrical system on Range Rover L322 models (2010-2012), this unit supplies the initial high-voltage pulse required to ignite discharge (xenon) headlamps and then regulates lamp current during normal operation. The ballast contains the inverter and control electronics that convert the vehicle supply to the voltages required by the lamps, manages lamp-start sequencing, protects against transient voltages and provides the electrical interface between the lamp module and the vehicle wiring harness.
