LR051836 is a connecting rod kit fitted to the bottom end of 2.2L DW12 diesel engines. The connecting rods transfer reciprocating piston motion into crankshaft rotation and carry combustion and inertia loads through the crank journals; correct rod geometry, material strength and fit are critical for consistent bearing clearances and balanced reciprocating mass. This kit is used during engine rebuilds, crankshaft interchange work or after bearing and rod damage on selected Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque models equipped with the 2.2L DW12 16-valve common-rail diesel engine.
