Land Rover Part Number: LR068979 - Clutch Slave Cylinder
LR068979 is a clutch slave cylinder fitted to Defender Puma Tdci 2.2 and 2.4 diesel models. This hydraulic cylinder converts pressure from the master cylinder into linear movement to operate the clutch release mechanism: when the clutch pedal is depressed, hydraulic pressure moves the slave piston which pushes the release bearing or associated linkage, allowing the clutch plates to separate. It forms part of the clutch hydraulic circuit and interfaces directly with the clutch release mechanism, so correct hydraulic connection and a functioning bleed valve are required for reliable operation.
Please note: If ordering LR068979 for the first time, the adapter LR068981 and the bleed valve LR068982 must also be ordered.
