LR073730 is an EGR cooler fitted to the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system on 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engines. The unit cools recirculated exhaust gases before they enter the inlet manifold and is positioned in the EGR circuit between the EGR valve and the inlet system. Cooling the exhaust gases lowers combustion temperatures and reduces nitrogen oxide formation; maintenance or replacement is required if internal leaks, blockages or external damage affect flow or sealing, as degraded cooling performance can alter EGR flow and combustion conditions.
