LR073780 is an inlet valve fitted to the cylinder head of 2.0 L Ingenium diesel engines. It controls the admission of air from the inlet manifold into the combustion chamber and seals against the valve seat to maintain compression. The valve is manufactured to withstand combustion temperatures and repeated seating cycles; the stem and head are finished to tight tolerances to maintain correct valve timing and combustion efficiency. Replacement is required where seating faces or stems are beyond service limits to restore the sealing surface and correct valve train geometry.
