LR078729 is a Front Door Latch fitted to left-hand front doors. The latch engages the door striker to secure the front door and provides the electrical connections required for central locking and passive keyless entry/start; on vehicles fitted with a soft-close system it works with the soft-close actuator to pull the door shut from a partially closed position and hold it against the seal. The unit forms the mechanical and electrical interface between the door and the vehicle body, and is a direct replacement for the front door lock controls including the necessary mounting and actuator interfaces for the listed Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.
