LR121757 is a front crankshaft oil seal fitted at the front of the crankshaft in the cylinder block on applicable 2.0L and 3.0L AJ engines. It retains engine oil within the crankcase and prevents oil passing the crankshaft into the timing area or to the exterior. Commonly referred to as a front crank seal or crankshaft front oil seal, it should be inspected during routine oil services and replaced if signs of leakage or visible damage are found. When fitting, ensure the crankshaft sealing surface is clean and free of nicks to avoid damaging the seal lip.
