LR124717 is a left-hand rear shock absorber with a magnetic damping system. Fitted to the rear suspension of Discovery Sport models (L550), the unit controls vertical wheel motion and limits oscillation after impacts. The magnetic damping provides variable damping by changing the internal response to road inputs, which reduces sustained bounce and improves wheel contact over uneven surfaces; the assembly mounts between the rear axle/suspension link and the vehicle body and controls rebound and compression movement.
