LR125215 is a timing chain guide that locates and supports the timing chain within the timing gear assembly for 2.0 L Ingenium petrol engines. The guide controls lateral movement of the timing chain and maintains alignment between the chain and the timing sprockets and tensioner components, helping to reduce noise and wear and to preserve camshaft-to-crankshaft timing geometry. Excessive wear or damage to the guide can allow increased chain slack or misalignment, which may produce audible noise from the timing cover and risk timing variation under load; when replacing this guide, inspect the chain, sprockets and tensioner for wear and replace components as required.
