LUL000020 is a Crankshaft Retainer and Seal fitted to the M62 B44 4.4 V8 petrol engine. It locates and seals the crankshaft at the cylinder block, fixing the crankshaft's axial position at the engine rear face and providing the sealing face that prevents oil escape from the crankcase. The retainer registers against the cylinder block to maintain correct crankshaft end float and to present a clean, undamaged seating surface for the rotary oil seal.
