MHK500840 is a front lambda sensor fitted to the exhaust system on 4.0 Cologne V6, 4.2S AJ-V8 and 4.4 AJ-V8 engines to measure oxygen levels in the exhaust gases. It supplies the engine control unit with oxygen level information used to adjust fuel injection for correct air-fuel ratio and emissions control.
