NTC2832 is a Rear Exhaust Silencer for the 2.5L Diesel Turbo. Fitted to the rear of the exhaust system on long-wheelbase Defender 110 and 130 models with the 2.5 Diesel Turbo (19J) engine, the assembly attenuates engine noise and completes the exhaust path; internal baffles and chambers reduce acoustic energy and help control exhaust flow as gases pass from the intermediate pipe to the tailpipe. The silencer also forms part of the exhaust backpressure profile required by the turbocharger and engine calibration, and externally locates beneath the rear of the vehicle where it mounts to hangers and the tailpipe-correct alignment prevents premature wear of mounts and potential exhaust leaks. Replacement restores the defined exhaust routing and noise characteristics for the 2.5 Diesel Turbo application and should match the vehicle's rear mounting points and tailpipe connection.
