Land Rover Part Number: NTC4221 - Exhaust Intermediate Pipe - 2.5 Diesel Turbo
NTC4221 is an exhaust intermediate pipe for 2.5L 4-cylinder turbo diesel engines. Fitted between the turbo outlet/front section and the intermediate silencer, the pipe routes exhaust gases toward the rear of the vehicle and keeps the front exhaust assembly correctly aligned with the intermediate silencer and rear tailpipe. Located under the vehicle between the turbo outlet/manifold area and the silencer, this mid-section piece maintains the exhaust flow path and correct geometry so adjoining components mount and seal correctly. On Defender models with the 2.5L 4-cylinder turbo diesel (19J) engine the pipe is exposed to heat cycles and road conditions; replacement is required where corrosion, deformation or damage prevents a secure connection. When fitting, check mating faces, clamps, hangers and mounts for damage and confirm alignment to avoid introducing stress to adjacent components.
