PRC8495 is a Front Wiper Rack Wheel Box that houses and supports the wiper rack spindle for the front windscreen wiper assembly on affected Defender vehicles. Fitted in the scuttle area, the wheel box accepts the spindle driven by the wiper motor and guides the linear movement of the wiper rack; bearings and mounting faces inside the box keep the rack aligned. Wear, corrosion or damaged bearings allow excessive play in the rack, producing uneven wipe patterns, noise or loss of contact with the windscreen, and replacing the wheel box restores correct support for the spindle and helps recover consistent wipe performance.
