QEK000030 is a Drag Link - Steering Tube. Fitted to the steering system as the tube component of the drag link on left-hand-drive Discovery 2 vehicles, it replaces part number QEK100130. The tube forms the structural body of the drag link assembly and carries the joints that connect the steering box output to the track rod and tie rod, transmitting steering movement across the front linkage while resisting bending and torsion; any deformation, corrosion or damage to the tube or its joint seats will introduce play into the steering linkage and can cause steering unpredictability or uneven tyre wear. On Discovery 2 models this component locates between the steering box output and the track rod ends and accepts the ball joints or rod ends required for articulation.
