Land Rover Part Number: QJF100140 - Steering Drop Arm
QJF100140 is a steering drop arm fitted to the power steering box on Discovery 2 models. On right-hand-drive vehicles it transfers steering input from the steering box to the steering linkage, converting the box's rotational output into the lateral movement required by the track rod and steering arms. Positioned on the steering box output shaft, the drop arm carries steering loads and transmits forces while accommodating suspension movement; wear or play at the pivot or connection points will affect steering feel, tracking and toe settings and may present as excessive free play or uneven tyre wear. Replacement restores the direct mechanical link between the steering box and the track rod assembly and returns correct steering geometry for right-hand-drive Discovery 2 TD5 and V8 applications. During fitting, correct orientation and secure attachment to the steering box output are required for safe operation.
