RBK500170 is an Upper Ball Joint - Front Upper Suspension Arm. Fitted to the front suspension upper wishbone, the ball joint forms the pivot between the wishbone and the steering knuckle. As a pivot within the front suspension it transmits vertical load from the chassis to the wheel hub while allowing steering and suspension travel; the joint contains a spherical bearing captured within a housing and is fitted with a protective rubber boot to retain lubricant and exclude dirt. Wear or boot failure can produce play at the front wheel, uneven tyre wear or unusual front-end noises under steering or suspension movement. The replacement kit restores the sealed bearing and, when fitted correctly, returns the joint preload and retention.
This kit includes the ball joint, the protective boot, a circlip and a nylon-insert lock nut.
