RNC100120 is a Front Upper Road Spring Seat. Fitted at the top of the front coil spring on Freelander front suspension, it provides a formed bearing surface between the spring and the vehicle body or shock absorber top mount, keeping the spring aligned during compression and rebound and resisting lateral movement. Where fitted, the seat interfaces with the top mount and may include a surface to reduce metal-on-metal contact to limit noise and wear. Service or replacement is required if the seat shows corrosion, deformation or damage that prevents the spring seating squarely, as an incorrect seat can affect spring location and suspension behaviour.
