RTC2626 is a main bearing kit for 2.25L 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, supplied in standard size with five main bearing shells. It provides the main and big-end bearing shells required when rebuilding or servicing five-bearing 2.25 engines fitted to Series 3 and Defender models; the main shells support the crankshaft journals and maintain the oil film that reduces friction, while the big-end shells sit in the connecting rod caps and support the crankpin journals.
