RTC4188S is a standard piston assembly supplied with piston rings and a gudgeon pin for the 2.25 litre petrol four-cylinder engine. Fitted to the reciprocating assembly, this piston transmits combustion and inertial forces from the piston crown to the connecting rod and crankshaft, while the rings provide the gas seal between the combustion chamber and the crankcase, limit blow-by and help control the oil film on the cylinder wall. The gudgeon pin locates the piston to the small end of the connecting rod and permits the pivoting motion during the engine stroke. This standard-size assembly is intended for use where cylinder bores are within factory specification and no oversize machining is required; ensure correct ring orientation and lubrication during installation and verify cylinder bore condition before fitting replacement pistons.
